Mr. Estalilla has shared some wonderful updates about this weekend's first Robotics Tournament that Morris Schott and Saddle Mountain attended at Foothills Middle School in Wenatchee.
WSD Staff, Delia Tlatenchi, Eduardo Enriquez, Juan Mata from MSE and Katie Ruiz, Alondra Castro, Veronica Castillo, and Jose "Ralph" Estalilla accompanied 8 teams from SME and 4 teams from MSSE.
The tournament has 2 sections - 2 Teams Alliance Driving and Skills - Single team Driving / Autonomous.
MSSE placed 1 of 4 teams in the Alliance Finals
SME placed 5 of 8 teams in the Alliance Finals
ALLIANCE TEAM FINALS: Although neither Wahluke schools won the Team alliance, we fared well against other elementary and middle school / Jr High teams.
SKILLS - DRIVING AND AUTONOMOUS: Although not the top score (Middle School/Jr High), we did have a SME team be the top score from the Elementary.
SPECIAL SHOUT-OUTS: Best of all. We had 6 -7 Mattawa families make the trip to support our students!! Shout out to Sam Mack for picking up lunch and Stacey Sprinkle preparing snacks for our students.
You have an opportunity to be part of another tournament that is happening Saturday, Jan 8 in WAHLUKE JR HIGH. We have teams from Redmond, Ellensburg, Sunnyside and Wahluke registered.
WSD is excited and proud of all the work that our students have done to get this far and our staff and families for supporting our students in this journey.
WAY TO GO WAHLUKE:
Both SME and MSSE Robotics team has more than 50% girl students participating.
Well done Wahluke Students!
